Nate is a seasoned bassist with years of professional experience performing, recording, and shaping the sound of bands across the Midwest. Known for his deep groove, precision, and instinctive musicality, he serves as the foundation of every ensemble he joins. Throughout his career, Nate has performed with numerous bands and artists, earning a reputation for versatility, reliability, and an unmistakable stage presence.
Along with his live performance work, Nate is also a producer who creates his own beats and instrumentals, bringing a modern, innovative edge to his sound. His creativity extends beyond the stage and into the studio, where he helps craft original music with intention and vision.
As both a musician and Co-CEO of 1983 The Brand, Nate blends artistry with leadership—anchoring the band musically while helping guide the direction of the organization. Whether in the studio or on stage, his energy, ear, and musical expertise are essential to the brand’s identity.
David
David Lynn James Jr., born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, has been playing piano for over 20 years. His musical journey began at age five under the guidance of his grandmother, who recognized and nurtured his gift early on. By 13, David was playing for First Church of God, and throughout high school, he expanded his craft by performing with the school choir and several local cover bands.
Over the years, David has become a versatile and in-demand musician, known for his ear, skill, and ability to elevate any live performance. Today, he plays for three churches, creates original beats and instrumentals, and serves as a lead producer for 1983 The Brand—shaping the sound behind Band 83 and multiple artists across the team.
In addition to his musical work, David is also one of the Co-CEOs of 1983 The Brand, helping guide the company’s creative direction, production quality, and growth.
David will be graduating in February (2026) with his Bachelor’s Degree in Audio Engineering and Science, further solidifying his role as both a creative force and technical expert within the brand.
KP
KP is a multifaceted musician with over 20 years of professional experience as a recording artist, songwriter, music producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. A Northwest Ohio native, he has built a reputation for his elite musicianship, creative versatility, and unmatched dedication to the craft.
Before joining 1983 The Brand, KP served as the lead guitarist for Fusion, winners of Northwest Ohio’s Best Band in both 2016 and 2017. He also performed as the lead guitarist for country artist Andi Jo Taylor, showcasing his ability to cross genres with ease and authenticity.
Beyond his performance career, KP is the creative force behind F.A.F.O Bros Universe, contributing worldbuilding, production, and original compositions to the growing multimedia project. His experience spans session work, touring, live performance, and studio production—making him one of the most well-rounded guitarists in the region.
KP currently brings his signature sound to 1983 The Brand and serves as the lead guitarist for the Tina Turner Tribute Band, continuing to elevate stages with precision, passion, and unmistakable energy.
Ray
Ray is a seasoned drummer with nearly three decades of experience behind the kit. With 29 years of playing under his belt, he has mastered a wide range of genres and brings a dynamic, versatile sound to every stage he steps on. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Ray's passion for music runs deep, shaping him into the powerhouse musician he is today.
In addition to being the drummer for 1983 The Brand, Ray performs with two other bands, showcasing his unmatched dedication, adaptability, and commitment to his craft. Whether he's driving a groove, elevating a live show, or locking in with fellow musicians, Ray delivers energy, precision, and heart every single time.
